01/27/2007 - Lawrence, KS (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers scored 21 points apiece, and the eighth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks cruised to a 97-74 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes.
Russell Robinson scored 12 points and tallied seven assists for Kansas (18-3, 5-1 Big 12). Sherron Collins added 11 points for the Jayhawks, who have won two straight and 12 of 13.
Richard Roby carried Colorado (5-12, 1-6) in the losing effort, pouring in 30 points on a 10-of-16 shooting performance, and grabbing seven rebounds. Jeremy Williams scored 11 points and pulled down eight boards for the Buffaloes, who fell for the third straight game, and for the sixth time in their last seven.
Colorado pulled to within 63-54 after a layup by Roby with just under 12 minutes left in the game. Kansas regrouped and put the Buffaloes away, though, ripping off a 10-1 run that was part of a 24-5 stretch that put the game away. Kansas shot the lights out in the rout, hitting 57 percent of its shots from the field, and 11-of-17 (65 percent) from behind the arc.
A three-pointer by Dominique Coleman brought Colorado to within 15-10 with 13:44 left in the first half. Chalmers and Rush answered with back-to-back threes, as Kansas scored eight straight, part of a 13-3 stretch that blew the game open.
Chalmers closed the run, as he opened it, with a trey, and the Jayhawks led 28-13 just past the midway point of the first half. The Kansas lead expanded to 19, after a Darnell Jackson jumper put the Jayhawks up 43-24 with 4:10 left in the half. Colorado closed the lead to 43-30 after a Jeremy Williams jumper, but Kansas held the Buffaloes at bay, and led 47-34 at the intermission.
